BIG LITTLE THEATRE SCHOOL ANNOUNCES ITS CHARITY OF THE YEAR

RINGWOOD based Big Little Theatre School, which has in the past supported Naomi House, Julia’s House and national charities The Variety Club of Great Britain, Children In Need and Oxfam, among others, has just announced that the Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s Jigsaw Appeal is to be its local charity of the year.

Vision, the School’s cabaret ensemble, started the ball rolling with a recent sell-out concert at the Barrington Theatre, Ferndown. The evening included songs by Simon and Garfunkel and Abba and from shows such as Little Shop of Horrors and The Witches of Eastwick.

Appeal co-ordinator Diana Newbury said, “We are delighted that BLTS has chosen us as their charity of the year. The concert raised an astounding £1200 for the appeal and the students were just superb, giving up their free time so enthusiastically. I think the full house at this fantastic evening reflects just how good the performers were, and we are so grateful and look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Since the Jigsaw Appeal began in June 2003 it has already raised £1.2 million towards its target of £2.5 million for additional scanners at RBH.

The next major Vision concert will take place at St Aldhelm’s Church, Branksome, on Saturday December 11.
